This website is the place to learn more about my handmade, custom castnets and beach seines, order a net or ask questions concerning cast nets and their use. I also plan for this site to contain general information on cast nets as well as information and tips on using cast nets to catch shrimp, bait or fish.

SHRIMP REPORT FOR GEORGIA
Looking forward to the 2008 season
Hopefully we will have a good cast net and beach seine
shrimp season this summer and fall, if we continue to have periodic rain like
the last few weeks it will help. Also,
this will be the second season that we can use taped nets again since net
modifications are now legal. This will
be the last year that you can use a ½” bar mesh cast net for food shrimp
though, as of March 2009 food cast nets will need to have a mesh size of 5/8”
bar or larger.
